GaAs MMIC amplifier, SOIC-8

VNA-25 is a MMIC for the 0.5 - 2.5 GHz band for small/medium power applications, in fact it has a variable output power between +16 and +18 dBm, lets see its key features:

  • Input and output dc-block capacitors are already inside the device and power supply pin is separated from output pin (differently than used in almost all the MMICs), these characteristics may seem quite trivial but they make the difference compared with similar devices, making very easy the mounting that needs only a by-pass capacitor on power supply because the bias network is already inside.
  • Very wide band, 0.5 - 2.5 GHz, with 14 - 17dB gain and +17 / +18 dBm output power, moreover the noise figure, despite the absorbed current, still keeps acceptable values making it usable as high dynamic RX post-amplifier with + 27 dBm IP3.
  • Dissipation, always difficult in so small devices, is guaranteed by the ground connection of 4 pins.
  • High S12 value with reverse insulation from 35 to 40 dB so it is suitable as good buffer stage.
  • Due to its fair output power it can be used for wide and narrow band applications, as final or driver TX, considering that to reach the full power it needs only 2 - 3 mW.
