LM35DZ is a precise and economical analog temperature sensor, the output voltage is linearly proportional to the temperature in celsius degrees and it varies of 10 mV / °C. It does not require calibrations and even a precise reference voltage, it has a very low absorption with a very small self-heating of only 0.1 °C.
It can operate from -40 / +110 °C with an intrinsic precision of 0.6 °C while the power supply ranges from 4 to 30V, the output at 20 °C = 20(°) x 10 (mV) that is 200 mV then easy to handle for any calculations. The advantages compared to thermocouples are: best precision, no aging, an higher output level, no neec of complicated amplifiers.
In addition to standard applications such as thermometer, protection of electronic circuits, etc ..., what matters most in RF is the realization of sophisticated thermoregulation OVEN oscillators, TCXO and OCXO, it is possible to make precise oscillators at low cost.
On line are available many application diagrams, the external circuitry has a really low cost, we can report that the results obtained in some cases were very similar to industrial professional products.
