The device is made of a milled and nickel plated brass single block and it contains a 20 dB 50W attenuator with SMA male for RF input and SMA female for RF output connectors. It needs only an adequate heat sink fixed by four M5 screws for continuous RF power operation.

Particular application of a power attenuator
The directional coupler is normally used to monitor the reflected power as indicator of the VSWR, the RF reflected power is than detected by a diode and computed as indicator of standing wave. The same job can be done by a power attenuator used as termination and applied to the circulator, It is also an attenuator for the reflected power to the diode. So you can avoid to use a directional coupler and a power termination for the circulator. For example , using our low cost 20dB 100W attenuator type ATTC-H100NA20 the price of the attenuator will be less than the price of the 2 not used componets. |
