Low-loss flexible cable assemblies up to 40 GHz

The QF086 low-loss flexible cable assemblies are designed for RF and microwave interconnections where compact size, mechanical flexibility and stable electrical performance are required. With a frequency range from DC to 40 GHz and 50 ohm impedance, QF086 is suitable for test & measurement setups, instrument-to-DUT connections and general-purpose microwave laboratory cabling.

QF086 is positioned as a functional alternative to comparable low-loss flexible cable assemblies such as MULTIFLEX_86 and TFlex-405, where the application requires a compact, flexible coaxial solution with custom lengths and multiple connector configurations. For replacement projects, Welco can support a form-fit-function review based on the required length, connector interface, frequency range, attenuation, VSWR and mechanical constraints.

This type of flexible low-loss cable assembly can also be used as an alternative to deformable, handy-form or semi-rigid coaxial cables in applications where easier routing, repeated handling or a more flexible installation is preferred. Typical use cases include internal RF cabling, equipment interconnections, light test setups and laboratory bench connections where the cable must be easier to route than a semi-rigid solution while maintaining suitable microwave performance.

Designed for RF labs, production test and compact DUT interconnects

The cable construction combines a silver-plated copper solid center conductor, solid PTFE dielectric, a silver-plated copper outer conductor, a braided shield and a blue FEP jacket. With an outer diameter of 2.80 mm, QF086 is well suited to compact RF layouts, validation setups and microwave test environments where routing space, shielding and handling are important selection criteria.

Connector options and custom assemblies

QF086 assemblies can be configured with different connector combinations, including 2.92 mm (K), SMA, N, SMP and SMPM series interfaces, depending on the required operating frequency, mating interface and layout constraints. Other connector options can be evaluated upon request.

The maximum operating frequency of the complete assembly is limited by the selected connector interface. Each assembly can be specified by connector code, cable type and length in millimeters, making the product easy to configure for laboratory, production and integration needs.
